Undershrubs; erect; 1-2 m tall; usually glabrous. Leaves membanaceous; oblong elliptic; obolanceolate; or linear lanceolate; 10-20 x 2.5-7 cm; apex acuminate or long acuminate; base cuneate; entire; yellowish green when dry; lateral nerves 8-10 pairs; slendar; distinct above or indistinct; petiole 1-4 cm long; glabrous; stipules persistent; broadly ovate or triangular; 4-4.5 mm long; acute or obtuse; entire or shallowly bifid; shortly connate at base. Cymes much flowered; terminal; 3-7 cm long; rachis and branches slightly compressed; bracts small; lanceolate; Flowers subsessile; (white with pinkish tips!); trimorphic: anthers exserted and stigmas included; anthers included and stigmas exserted; or both anthers and stigmas exserted; calyx obovate; 1-1.5 mm long; limbs 5-lobed; lobes shorter than 0.5 mm; acute; corolla tube curved; 10-15 mm long; hairy on both sides; lobes 4-5; ovate triangular; c. 2 mm long; apex swollen; shallowly grooved/fluted.
