Shrubs; to 2 m tall; branches and branchlets densely spreading flavi-villous. Leaves subcoriaceous; elliptic-oblong; 11-16 cm long; 3.5-5.5 cm broad; the apex acuminate; the base cuneate; glabrous above; spreading flavi-villous beneath; nerves 11 pairs; prominent beneath; nervules parallel; prominent beneath; petioles 1-1.5 cm; long; spreading flavi-villous; stipules small; c. 3 mm long; spreading flavi-villous. Cymes sessile; bracts inconspicuous. Flowers sessile; calyx densely pilose; the tubes 3-6 mm long; the lobes 5-7; linear; 9-14 mm long; corolla up to 2 cm long; the tube 12-13 mm long; the lobes 5-7; lanceolate; 7-8 mm long; densely pilose. Fruits subglobose; 6-7 mm diam.; crowned with long calyx lobes; pilose; pyrenes 5-7.
