Shrubs; 1-2 m tall; branches and branchlets densely spreading villous. Leaves chartaceous or subcoriaceous; ovate-lanceolate or elliptic-lanceolate; 5-9 cm long; 2-3 cm broad; the apex cuspidate-acuminate; the base cuneate or obtuse; glabrous above; densely and softy villous beneath; nerves 4-6 pairs; nervules subparallel; petioles 5 mm long; villous; stipules minute. Cymes sessile; bracts absent. Flowers sessile; calyx divided nearly to the base into 5 lanceolate lobes; hirsute outside; the calyx lobes up to 5 mm long; acuminate at apex; corolla 7-8 mm long; 5-1obed; outside hispid; inside villous; the throat hairy. Fruits ovoid-globose; hirsute; 4-5 mm diam.; crowned by the long persistent calyx lobes; pyrenes 5.
