Trees; 8-11 m tall. Branchlets glabrous. Terminal buds small; bud scales glabrous or sometimes with hairs. Petiole 6-14 mm; leaf blade obovate-oblong to oblong-oblanceolate; 5-8(-10) x 2-3(-4) cm; leathery; glabrous on both surfaces; midrib raised abaxially; concave adaxially; lateral veins ca. 8 pairs; reticulate veinlets foveolate on both surfaces; base attenuate; apex obtuse or shortly acuminate. Panicles usually terminal; ca. 3.5 cm; shorter than leaf blade; with 5-10 flowers; branched at upper part of peduncle. Pedicel ca. 3 mm. Flowers white. Perianth lobes slightly unequal; 3.5-4 x 1.8-2.5 mm; puberulent on both surfaces or sometimes glabrate outside. Stamens ca. 3.5 mm; glands of 3rd series almost sessile. Staminodes hairy. Ovary globose. Fruit globose; 8-11 mm in diam.; perianth lobes caducous; rarely persistent in fruiting stage. Fl. Sep; fr. Feb.
