???? Trees to 15 m tall. Branches minutely rusty pubescent when young; soon glabrous. Petiole 5--12 mm; glabrous; leaf blade oblong-lanceolate; 10--17 X 3--7 cm; papery to leathery; glabrous; adaxially shiny dark green; base acute to rounded and sometimes unequilateral; apex acuminate; lateral veins 7--10 pairs and conspicuous on both surfaces. Inflorescences axillary; 1-flowered. Flowers 4--7 cm in diam. Pedicel 1--2 cm; appressed pubescent. Sepals subovate to triangular; 6--15 X 3--8 mm; acute; outside puberulous. Petals greenish to yellowish; thin; elliptic; oblong-elliptic; or oblong; outer petals slightly longer than inner; 3--5.5 X 1.5--3 cm; puberulous to glabrous; apex obtuse. Stamens oblong; connective apically broadly rounded; concealing anther locules. Carpels numerous; oblong; pubescent; ovule 1; basal. Stigmas clavate to capitate. Fruiting pedicels ca. 2 X 0.2 cm; stipes slender; 5--10 X ca. 1 mm; glabrous; carpels numerous; ellipsoidal; ca. 10 X 5 mm; base rounded; apex acute. Fl. May--Oct; fr. Jul--Apr of following year.
