J. T. Johansson (1987) merged P. multiflora Ridley into Prismatomeris tetrantra (Roxb.) K. Schum. (Opera Botanica 94: 26. 1987). Y. Z. Ruan (1988) reduced P. multiflora Ridley to P. tetrantra (Roxb.) K. Schum. subsp. multiflora (Ridley) Y. Z. Ruan. As the synoptic characters of the latter fall within the range of variation of P. tetrandra subsp. tetrandra in Johansson’ account; it should be proper to include it in P. tetrandra.
