Shrubs or trees; 1--8 m tall. Petioles 0.5--1.5 cm; leaf blade oblong-lanceolate; oblong-obovate; lanceolate or obovate; 4.5--15 x 1.5--6 cm; papery or thinly leathery; apex acuminate or abruptly short acuminate; base cuneate or acute; entire; sometimes slightly revolute; blackish brown when dry; glabrous adaxially and abaxially; or sometimes shortly hairy in axils of veins abaxially; slightly shiny adaxially; midrib usually impressed adaxially; lateral veins slender; 5--10 pairs; prominent abaxially; depressed or slightly prominent adaxially; stipules 5--8 mm long; connate at base; acuminate at upper part. Cymes terminal; corymbous; 2.5--5 x 4--6 cm; trichotomous; slightly dense branched; peduncle short; bracts and bracteoles small; subulate; ca. 1.5 mm wide. Flowers with pedicels 2--5 mm long or subsessile. Calyx tube turbinate; ca. 2 mm long; lobes very small; ca.0.5 mm long; triangular; apex slightly acute. Corolla white or pale yellow; tube 2--2.5 mm long; soft hairy at throat; apically 5-lobed; lobes oblong; ca. 5 mm long; reflexed at anthesis.
