Dense Quercus ilex subsp. rotundifolia high forests. On lighter soils thermophilous trees such as Ceratonia siliqua and Olea europaea subsp. oleaster or also Quercus coccifera appear as competitors. The well developed undergrowth consists of flat-leaved sclerophyllous species.
